KONOVER SOUTH CLOSES $4.4 MILLION, 9.8-ACRE LAND PURCHASE FOR ITS NEW WEST COMMERCIAL LANDINGS RETAIL CENTER

Konover South closes $4.4 million, 9.8-acre land purchase for its new West Commercial Landings retail center in Sunrise to include Wawa, Learning Experience, and more

SUNRISE, Fla. (Feb. 29, 2016) – Konover South, LLC, on February 26 closed a $4.4 million, 9.8-acre land purchase in Sunrise for its new West Commercial Landings retail center that will soon offer a Wawa store, a 10,000 square foot The Learning Experience, and more.  Located at the southwest corner of Commercial Blvd. and NW 94th Ave. between the Sawgrass Expressway and University Drive, the center will also include 7,500 square feet of inline retail plus two outparcels available for lease.  Blair Hyatt, Executive Vice President of Konover South, stated “We are excited to be part of Wawa’s expansion into South Florida, as well as to bring a great neighborhood center to the city of Sunrise.”  Construction is slated to commence this summer and openings are set for first quarter 2017, Hyatt added.  West Commercial Landings was designed by Marc Wiener, A.I.A., Boca Raton, and civil engineering was provided by Munson Design and Consulting Inc., Coral Springs.

The seller was Capital Bank, and the broker for the land purchase was John Crotty with Avison Young.   Paco Diaz with CBRE represented Wawa in its long-term ground lease, and Alan Dinenberg with Legend Properties represented Learning Experience in its long-term ground lease.
